Welcome ...
Covenant Canadian Reformed School is a Private
Christian K - 12 school located slightly east of the Hamlet of Neerlandia,
Alberta. Our aim is to provide high quality education within the framework of
the Bible and the Three Forms of Unity.
Our School
We operate with ECS (Kindergarten) and 6 elementary classrooms (Grade 1, Grade
2, Grade 3, Grade 4, Grade 5, and Grade 6) as well as a full junior and senior
high academic program. Our students are primarily members of the Canadian
Reformed or United Reformed Churches, although other student are admitted on an
individual basis after a board evaluation. Presently we operate with 177
students, 12 full-time teachers, 1 part-time teacher, 4 full-time aides, 2
part-time aides, 2 part-time librarians, a full-time secretary, and numerous
parent volunteers. Currently we are seeking one more teacher to complete
our staff. We have just completed a major expansion that added over 9,000
square feet to our school.
Our Board
Our board is comprised of 7 members who are
elected by the membership. These board members fulfill their function in a
strictly voluntary capacity. Because we are a private Christian school, these
members function apart from local public boards and can work with some freedom
with respect to government regulations. The board fulfills such duties as
maintaining the school through membership fees and student tuition. They also
assume responsibility with respect to curriculum, staffing, government mandates,
etc.
Who we are ...
We are primarily descendants of European
immigrants who came to Canada. We are able to provide the level of academic
excellence we do because of our united vision which is outlined in the Word of
God as the Reformed Faith, and summarized in the Three Forms of Unity (The
Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession, the Canons of Dort), as well as
the Ecumenical Creeds: The Apostles' Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian
Creed.. To find out more about us, visit our church website at
the Canadian Reformed Churches website.
